The city was golden, full of colours and light. When I passed by Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, I couldn’t but think of the tragic story of the Grand Duchess Anastasia and her family. People’s faces stayed a mystery, hidden underneath their black umbrellas, but their elegant outfits mesmerised me instantly. I have always found the phlegmatic and polite nature of the British to be fascinating.
